A new publication produced to coincide with Simon's exhibition Let This Be A Sign at Swiss Cottage Gallery (May-July 2012).

Simon Roberts was commissioned as the official election artist by the UK Parliament in 2010 to provide an historic visual record of the General Election. Alongside the final exhibition he published a newspaper containing all 25 artworks, a selection of images submitted by the public and three commissioned essays.

Simon Roberts travelled across England in a motorhome between August 2007 and September 2008, for this portfolio of large-format tableaux photographs of the English at leisure. Roberts’ national survey was informed by the photography of his predecessors and by the romantic tradition of English landscape painting. This is Roberts' second book and was recently included in Martin Parr’s 30 most influential photobooks of the last decade.

Simon Roberts travelled across Russia between July 2004 and August 2005, making pictures in over 200 locations and creating one of the most extensive, comprehensive photographic accounts of this vast country by a Westerner. His images are not clichéd representations of a Russia ground down by poverty and despair; rather, he presents a beautiful and awe-inspiring land, with a dignified people empowered by a growing optimism and a deeply rooted sense of national esteem.
